Camp Shiloh Mission Statement

Our mission is to support the church by providing a place for God’s people to step outside and away from the intrusions of the world’s demands, to be refreshed and instructed in the Lord as they enjoy the fellowship of believers and are able to rest in the beauty of His creation. Mark 6:31

The Biblical Justification for Camp Shiloh

The Church is the family of God; a covenant family and community. Every member is dependent on the whole and is a necessary part of the whole. (Romans 12:1-8) We all need to avail ourselves of the willing help of others in the Body of Christ for edification of the whole or we diminish ourselves and in consequence, our own ability to build up the Body in love. (1 Corinthians 12:12-18 & 13:13) Camp Shiloh is one of the places where ‘willing help’ can be found and utilized to supplement the Church’s edification as part of the body.

The scriptures clearly teach the responsibility and its implied accountability of parents to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4, Deuteronomy 11:18-21) Certainly, Christian parents always have the primary responsibility and privilege with respect to the nurturing of their children. Even the pastor’s primary role is to disciple the men to be godly fathers and assist them to lead their Christian wives to be strong parents to complete the task of nurture and admonition. (Proverbs 22:6) Camp Shiloh is another means to supplement both the parental and pastoral responsibilities as a ‘willing help’ to them and to the Church.

As he nears the end of his own race, Paul says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7. This is really the challenge for us all isn’t it? We must keep the faith, that is we must continue to believe in and trust Jesus Christ. The whole of our Christian lives lived out for God in repentance and obedience flow out of our faith in Christ. That’s why it’s so important, “Without faith it is impossible to please him” Hebrews 11:6. Remember Christians, the first line of the Devil’s attack is to get you to compromise your trust in Jesus, and that can also flow in to your obedience to him because faith expresses itself in love Galatians 5:20.
