Greg was born in Southern New Hampshire but has spent most of his life in the White Mountains, having worked at the Mount Washington Observatory for 11 years. By the grace of God, Greg was won to Christ by his oldest brother in 1969 who also encouraged him to engage in youth ministry.

In 1980 Greg cut down the first tree himself in a remote portion of land located deep in the woods of NH’s northern White Mountains region. The lodge at Shiloh was built to be a home away from home, and a place to provide rest, Christian fellowship and spiritual refreshment for single people, families and groups of all sorts in the Christian community. Shiloh became a home missions outreach that has been focused on sharing the gospel and spreading the good news of our Lord for over 30 years.

Camp Shiloh Formed To Reach Out to Young People

Shiloh’s ministry and outreach grew over the years and in 1991 with the help of Greg’s nephew, Brian Gordon, Camp Shiloh was formed, they had their first amazing year of summer camp. Many young Christians signed up to form both our first junior camp as well as our first senior camp that year. Some of the kids and teenagers who signed up were lost souls. We shared the gospel, prayed, sang and had great fellowship and we truly believe that some of the lost have been led to saving faith in the Lord; souls plucked from the grip of the world and won to Christ Jesus.

As Christians we recognize that we are not of this world nor should set our minds on the things of  it but rather on Heaven and IMG_4095our Lord, Jesus. In the meantime as we pass through the world, we are to walk with the Lord in faith and obedience and strive to glorify him in all that we do. We read in Matthew 5: 13-16 (that we are the light and salt of the earth), but at the same time we are not separate from the earth in that we live in it and share it with everyone. In this, Shiloh is not just a rest for believers but also extends its invitation to everyone who agrees to respect the lodge and its use.

Camp Shiloh is a home away from home, a place of rest yet full of adventure and is here waiting and ready to bring Christian fellowship and spiritual growth to all of our campers.
